Here’s an intersting question that has found a home in the chiropractic profession; Are your headaches the result of an aspirin deficiency?
Sounds a little puzzling at first. But when you stop and consider the logic behind putting an aspirin in your body, or other medciations, for headaches, migraines and neck pain, you are left with just that; Is it really a deficiency in aspirin that caused your pain?
Of course the answer is no, but that’s the rationale behind the pill. How many aspirin or Tylenol do you take in a given day? How about in a week? Month? Year? Lifetime? The numbers could very well be in the thousands!
That’s a lot of foreign chemicals for your body to process. And the reason you keep taking them is because you haven’t corrected the real problem that caused it in the first place.
There could be several reasons for your headaches and neck pain. The most common, and most overlooked, are slight misalignments in your neck and upper back that only a trained chiropractor would ever be able to find.
Is this you?
What’s causing this typically begins in the neck or cervical spine. Tension begins at weak spots in your joints that may have developed over a lifetime from things such as sleeping on the wrong pillow or perhaps difficult work positions where you have to look a certain way for hours on end.
Eventually, your body can’t bounce back like it used to. Combine these physical stresses with the mental stresses of life and you, like most people, are a prime candidate for a headache.
Can chiropractic adjustments really help me? Chances are, the answer is yes. All it takes is for a trained chiropractor to palpate (feel) your spine and find the rotated or malpositined vertebrae in your neck. This is then usually confirmed on x-rays. Once you see and understand the problem, you will appreciate the value of a chiropractic adjustment over that aspirin or pill anyday.
Do chiropractic adjustments hurt? I am a little hesitant to have my neck “cracked”.
No. They typically don’t hurt and chances are you will feel better the moment it is done. Watch the video below of Dr. Rick Horsfield giving a neck adjustment:
